The Chief is voted into a two year term by the active firefighters of the fire department, the Deputy Chief is voted into office every year. The Captain and Lieutenants are appointed by the Fire Chief for one year terms. The Fire Chief is responsible for everything related to firefighting from running Incident Command at fire calls to purchasing PPE, gear, equipment, etc and repair decisions for the fire trucks and apparatus. The Chief with the help and support of the Deputy Chief, Captain and LT handle not only emergency calls but are responsible for the proper wear and maintenance of PPE, Training, coordination of fire prevention activities and community events as well as ensuring all members are physically fit and that safety is the #1 priority at all times. All Executive Officers except the Trustee are voted into office for one year terms by the Active Firefighters of the Fire Dept. The Trustee is voted into office for a two year term The President is responsible for the property of the Fire Company and to ensure the building, grounds and administration of corporate finances is secure. The Vice President supports the President in his goals, coordinates working committees within the Fire Dept and oversees the Chairs of those committees such as Fund Raising, Membership Recruitment and Retention, Community Events such as the Annual Halloween Party, etc. The Treasurer tends to the day to day bills of running the company, works with the Fire Chief and President on Purchase Orders and Capital Funding and handles budgeting of Fund Drive. The Secretary records all Minutes from Company and Executive Board meetings and handles correspondence. The Trustee is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the building and all supplies needed to ensure the Fire Station is in top working order for the Fire Company.
