East Windsor Fire #2 Professional Team Commitment

East Windsor Fire Company #2 is proudly an all volunteer fire company serving primarily the eastern area of East Windsor Township in Mercer County, New Jersey.

Our Fire Officers and Firefighters are a team of highly trained unpaid professionals that serve with excellence, dedication, and pride. Our members are committed to saving lives, protecting property, and improving the quality of life for our residents and visitors, by providing rapid and reliable services in all emergency and non emergency activities.

We operate out of one fire station responding to over 300 calls per year covering residential occupancies that range from mansions to 4 story apartment complexes, warehouses, commercial businesses, hotels, senior housing communities, religious establishments, childcare facilities and multiple schools.  Our fire department uniquely borders three counties in NJ, Mercer, Monmouth and Middlesex and we respond on mutual aid emergencies in nearby townships located in three different counties and we are part of multiple county wide Task Forces.

Also identified as Station 46 in Mercer County, NJ we are proud of our apparatus fleet that includes Engine 46-1, E46-2, TS46 and AerialTower46.  Visit our Station 46 Apparatus page for photos and more detailed information.

We are funded by donations from East Windsor Township and our community residents.

Fire Suppression

The threat of fire and its devastating effects on life and property are of major importance and priority for East Windsor Fire #2. To address those concerns and to provide rapid, safe, and effective firefighting efforts, our firefighters spend hundreds of hours a year training in all aspects of firefighter education and continuously drill together to keep our skills sharp up to and beyond the most current standards.

A minimum of four classes are held every month and run by our Fire Officers and in-house qualified fire instructors.  Firefighters attend a number of Fire Academies including Mercer, Middlesex and Monmouth County Fire Academy.  We also attend live fire training courses at those academies.

Public Education

East Windsor Fire #2 is very proud of our outstanding public fire safety education at schools and health care facilities, as well as to community groups. Using a variety of teaching methods, firefighters teach fire safety, fire prevention, fire extinguisher procedures and help to coordinate and conduct fire drills.

Our goal is to make our community a safe place in which to live and play. Educating our citizens on things they can do to make their homes and surroundings safe and teaching them what they should do in case of an emergency are very effective ways to achieve this goal.
Reaching out to the children of our community especially is a commitment our firefighters take seriously.
